Sep 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Renowned fashion designer Catherine Walker, who is best known to have designed the elegant outfits worn by Princess Diana, passed away on Thursday after a long battle with cancer. The news of the famed designer’s demise has been confirmed by her family members, sending shock waves across the world of fashion.

A statement that has been released by Catherine Walker’s family reads that the noted designer breathed her last at a medical facility near her home in Sussex on last Thursday which finally brought to an end her long battle with cancer. The statement further went to add that Catherine Walker was able to overcame many hurdles in her life which included young widowhood and illness both of which she handled with extreme bravery. Her family also noted that the British designer was successful in establishing one of the most successful couture brands while she raised her two daughters all by herself.

Although Catherine Walker was born in France, she gained wide acclaim as a couture designer in Britain and during her illustrious career she dressed some of the most beautiful women across the world. The noted designer began her association with Princess Diana around three months after she tied the knot with Prince Charles and over the next 16 years, the Princess wore some of her best creations till date transforming her into a style icon. Despite the fact that Catherine Walker emerged as one of the most successful designer of recent times, interestingly she never indulged in any kind of publicity not even catwalks as she only allowed her creation top talk for itself.
