New York, Dec 6 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Organizers of a campaign to encourage Facebook users to use cartoon characters instead of the pictures on their Facebook profile have indicated that they are not affiliated to NSPCC in any way.
The organizers created a Facebook page to encourage fans to help create awareness about abuses that children suffer. They have however indicated that NSPCC does not have anything to do with NSPCC.
NSPCC though says that they support the move and praised the campaign for highlighting the abuses children suffers at the hands of the people that are supposed to protect them. NSPCC tweeted that, “Although the NSPCC did not originate the childhood cartoon Facebook campaign, we welcome the attention it has brought to the work we do”.
The campaign though was very successful because several Facebook users accepted the proposal and changed their photos to that of famous cartoon characters. The campaign’s webpage has fan base of 90,000 but it caught on with several others who are not part of the fan page.
It is not everyone though that is pleased with the move. Some users have criticized the move saying it has a convoluted charity message.
