June 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) England coach Fabio Capello has banned vuvuzelas from the team hotel so that his players can sleep. The ear splitting South African instrument was being played all till 3am when the 64 year old English Coach lost his cool.
The Italian was especially furious to find that a local bar was handing out the instruments free to the people who could guess the score of the ongoing South Africa Uruguay clash. The ruckus made by the fans in an around the team hotels forced the hotel authorities to impose the ban on the plastic trumpets. Anyone seen with a vuvuzela is sent out. A spokesperson for the hotel said that guests who are carrying the instrument will be asked to keep it in their rooms even if they are not playing it.
The Vineyard Hotel and Spa staff and authorities are ensuring that there are no vuvuzelas inside or around the hotel. Fabio Capello and his team checked into the luxurious hotel for their world Cup campaign. The problem started with the fans getting hold of the 3ft long vuvuzela during Uruguay’s 3-0 victory over the hosts.
The trumpets went on till 3 am in the morning and Fabio Capello wanted to make sure that his team got proper rest before their must-win tie against Algeria. The spokesperson said that the English team was their VIP guest and they would ensure that the vuvuzelas do not disturb them any more.
Earlier there have been several complaints from players and team about the vuvuzelas being extremely loud. Even broadcasters have found the earsplitting South African trumpet to be obstructing their audio signals.
