pilotNov 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) After wide search, the rescue and search team has found out that the pilot of the F-22 aircraft, which met with an accident did not survive, the authorities said on Friday. The F-22 aircraft crashed while it was on a routine training mission in Alaska and the wreckage was found last Wednesday. Air Force Captain Jeffrey Haney, who was assigned to serve 525th Fighter Squadron, 3rd Wing has been missing since the crash on Tuesday night.

While announcing the unfortunate demise of the pilot, Air Force Col. Jack McMullen, 3rd Wing commander said that Jeffrey Haney did not “eject” from the aircraft before the crash. He said that the recovery team found out the life support items and ejection seat that Jeffrey Haney wore while he was in the flight. Jack McMullen said in the press conference that if a pilot tries to eject from his place, the seat would go with him and it would not be anywhere near the site. He said that the rescue team no longer considers it to be a “search-and-rescue operation” but a “recovery operation”.

Jack McMullen expressed his condolences and said that it is a huge loss to the Air Force and 3rd Wing and an emotional time for Air Force Captain Jeffrey Haney’s family. He said that the Air Force team is doing every possible thing they can do to support the late captain’s family. He said that based on the ‘evidence’ that are recovered from the site of the devastating crash and after two days of ground and aerial search, the authorities have come to the conclusion that pilot Jeffrey Haney did not survive the crash.
