October the 26th is the day when ‘Extreme Paranormal‘, investigates ‘Pennhursts Insane Asylum&Manchac Swamp’, creating a rush of excitement and horror amongst the viewers and the netizens. Airing on Monday the 26th at 10.00p.m, the show has its three investigators, Shaun, Nathan and Jason going to the Pennhurst State School and Hospital that was closed down after abuse and torture, to investigate the reported sightings of ghosts. Pennhurst, a closed down facility (1986), is haunted by ghosts according to the strange sightings experienced by a number of people. The show has all the investigators trying to prove that the ghosts are true and what more, they are even annoyed.
The show also goes in to explore the Manchac Swamp. The team travels to the outskirts of New Orleans, where a hurricane reportedly wiped out a full town in the year of 1915. One of the team members is even buried alive so that the team can contact the ghosts of the now-dead residents of that town.
The facility was started in the year 1908, according to sources, to help mentally and physically disabled people. However, a case that was registered against the facility resulted in its closing down. The trial went on for 32 days, and came out with the conclusions, that the facility was dangerous and also inadequate, causing deterioration in the patients’ mental and intellectual abilities. The judge, Raymond. J. Broderick, passed the order to close down the facility. Also, the main reason for the facility to close down remains that the patients there, were not only beaten, but also sexually assaulted.
