Explosive device explodes at Chamberlain High School in Tampa, Florida; second deactived
May 17th, 2010 - 10:36 pm ICT by BNO NewsTAMPA, FLORIDA (BNO NEWS) — Chamberlain High School in Tampa, Florida has been placed in lockdown after an explosive device exploded at the school on Monday morning, police said. A second device has been deactived.
Tampa Police Department spokeswoman Laura McElroy said the small explosive device exploded in a hallway, and burned the clothing and caused minor injury to a female student. “The bomb team deactived a second device,” McElroy said.
Officers searched the school and determined there are no other explosive devices on the campus. However, the school remains on lockdown while officers continue their investigation.
No arrests have been made as of yet.
