Explosion at ISAF combat post in eastern Afghanistan injures U.S. soldiers
February 12th, 2010 - 2:56 am ICT by BNO NewsKABUL (BNO NEWS) — An explosion at a joint combat outpost in eastern Afghanistan injured several U.S. service members on Thursday evening, officials said.
The explosion happened at a joint Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) and International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) combat outpost in eastern Afghanistan’s Paktiya province, according to an ISAF spokeswoman. It was not immediately clear what caused the explosion.
Several service members from the United States were injured in the blast, but it was not immediately clear how many. “We can’t comment on the injuries,” the spokeswoman said. No ISAF or ANSF fatalities were reported.
The incident is under investigation.
