KABUL (BNO NEWS) — At least 10 Afghans have been killed after an explosion at a home in Afghanistan’s Uruzgan province on Thursday, according to the Dutch Ministry of Defense.

The explosion happened Thursday morning at a home in Deh Rawood, a small town located about 400 kilometers southwest of Kabul.

A statement from the Dutch Ministry of Defense said at least 10 to 15 Afghans had died in the explosion, and said the death toll is expected to rise. Several others were injured in the explosion and were taken to medical posts on Camp Hadrian and Kamp Holland.

Afghan security forces, assisted by service members of the Task Force Uruzgan, are investigating the incident. A large amount of weapons, and an amount of opium, were found at the home. The owner of the home has been arrested.

The Dutch Ministry of Defense said that, according to an initial investigation, a suicide bomber was being prepared to carry out an attack when his explosives detonated too early.

No ISAF soldiers were in the vicinity when the explosion took place.
