July 29, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Lee Taylor happens to be a spokesperson for the Mount Rainier National Park. She has sorrowfully mentioned that a 52-year-old climber named Lee Adams passed away on the mountain on Tuesday subsequent to plunging into a ravine.
The spokesperson has asserted that Lee Adams was a component of a squad of four males. These four males were coming down the mountain on Emmons Glacier. That was the moment when the final individual on the rope stumbled and collapsed. The hiking squad was then removed off its feet. They plummeted into a ravine. That was the site where Adams died on blow. The second hiker was wounded and the two others providentially steered clear of physical damage.
The three survivors managed to emerge from the ravine. Subsequently, they walked to Camp Sherman around 3 p.m. to position a report on the mishap. Two hikers were mountaineering with a park ranger. The wounded hiker was being taken away from the mountain by means of a helicopter.
Taylor has divulged that the park rangers were still functioning to pick up Adams’ corpse on Wednesday morning.
Fred Slater happens to be a constituent of the Washington Alpine Club. Lee Adams taught the constituents of this Club for several years. Slater has revealed that he is shocked due to the passing away of Adams. He had deemed that Adams would continue to participate in trekking even after entering the 60s. Slater declared that Adams was extremely athletic. Slater has articulated that the tragedy was abnormal since, in summer, the mountain’s ravines are noticeable. Nevertheless, Slater has confessed that Adams’ demise demonstrates that calamities can afflict anyone.
Eileen Adams happens to be the stepmother of Lee Adams. She mentioned that he was passionate about mountaineering and was exceedingly proficient in this field. Mountaineering bequeathed him joyfulness and that he was at ease in the mountain.
