Texarkana, Nov. 14, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A “greater judge” awaits to pronounce his sentence, said the judge who passed the verdict on Evangelist Tony Alamo on charges of sexual abuse of young girls. Alamo has been sentenced to 175 years in prison for forcing minor girls into fake marriages with him. He allegedly made use of his image of a prophet that he had built up over the years. According to sources, he proclaimed being a prophet. The seventy five year old man was given the maximum sentence that can be awarded by the United States District Judge Harry F. Barnes.

Three of the five girls appeared on court to recount the horrifying experiences they faced with Alamo. Alamo chose his victims from among the daughters of his followers. Some of his victims whom he “married” were as young as eight years old. These women arrived in court to say how the perverted clergyman had abused and tortured them, and the impact that it has had on the rest of their lives. They admitted to be reeling from the shock still and attempting to restructure their lives. One of the women said that she was studying to be an FBI agent so that she could punish people like Alamo.

The women said that Alamo kept threatening them with eternal hell if they protested. His nemesis came with the sentence, which means that he would have to spend the rest of his life in prison. He would also have to pay 250,000 dollars as fines. He will return to court on January 13 when it will be decided whether the victims will be given compensation. He had been prosecuted before for trafficking girls across state lines.
