European Council President Van Rompuy says there is no justification for Moscow attacks
March 29th, 2010 - 8:14 pm ICT by BNO NewsBRUSSELS (BNO NEWS) — European Council President Herman Van Rompuy on Monday con’demned ‘in the strongest terms’ the suicide attacks at two Moscow metro stations, killing 37 people and injuring 102 people.
“I am deeply shocked by the terrorist attacks perpetrated this morning in Moscow’s metro that killed dozens of innocent people and left many others injured,” Van Rompuy said, saying he wants to convey his ‘most sincere condolences’ to the families of the victims. He also wished those injured a prompt recovery.
“I condemned in the strongest terms these acts of cowardice for which there is no justification,” Van Rompuy added. He also sent a message of condolences and solidarity from the European Union to Russian President Medvedev and the people of Russia.
