Nov. 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Esther Reed is a 31-year-old, Montana based girl, who is currently serving her time in the Alderson federal prison in West Virginia, for identity theft and fraud charges. She was featured yesterday on ‘Catch Her If You can’, once again raising the curiosity among people.
Reed first went missing in 1999 when she was thought to have expired. However, in 2004, Social Security Checks showed that she was not dead, which made her father file a missing persons report. Her first real identity theft took place, when she assumed the identity of Natalie Bowman to get into the Harvard university. She escaped without being caught, and went on to assume the identity of Brooke Henson, who had been reported as a missing person in the year 1999. As Brooke, Reed went on to attend Columbia University where she was caught. She fledged while on bail, and then to escape the authorities, became Jennifer Myers and relocated to Chicago. She was ultimately caught in 2008 where she plead guilty and was given a sentence of 51, months. Her sentence completes in 2011 October.
Reed has been the inspiration behind two episodes on the show 48 Hours Mystery Esther, where she first gave her interview. These episodes have been named, ‘Capture the queen’ and the 2009 released ‘Catch her if you can’.
In her interview, she said that, “In first grade I was Esther Elizabeth Reed for a while. when I was 18, I was Elizabeth Reed…then i was Natalie Fisher. Then I went by the name Natalie Bowman…then Brook Henson and finally, Jennifer Myers.”
