Emergency services respond to false fire alarm at Schiphol Airport

- HAARLEMMERMEER, the Netherlands (BNO NEWS) — A false fire alarm sent several fire departments rushing to Schiphol International Airport near Amsterdam on Wednesday afternoon, officials say.
Emergency services responded at around 3.43 p.m. local time (9.45 a.m. EDT) after a fire alarm system in terminal one was activated. A spokeswoman for Schiphol Airport told BNO News that someone activated the system which caused several fire departments to respond, but there was no fire.
Further details were not immediately available, and it was not clear if someone was arrested for activating the system.
