It changes the word Google with logos that resemble an event or occasion on specific days and time of the year. Today it has selected the cute red colored muppet Elmo as its logo. Last week Google has used various Sesame Street logos in its page to mark the show’s 40th anniversary. The Sesame Street characters that also found their place in Google’s home page were Cookie Monster, Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch and Bert. Elmo is the brainchild of Jim Henson. The lovable character was created in the 1970’s. However, in his early days he was referred as the baby monster. Later he was rechristened as Elmo.

Sesame show is a popular TV show meant for the children. Elmo’s furry red colored body and big white eyes are a huge hit with the kids. He also has an orange nose. Now the viewers can see him in the concluding 15 minutes of the episode. He is often accompanies by Dorothy, his goldfish and a host of silent characters like Mr. Noodle. His parents are Louis and Mae, who have distinct US accents. Kevin Clash is the puppeteer who gives voice to Elmo’s character.

One unique thing about Elmo is that he speaks in the third person while referring to himself. Elmo has appeared in a number of shows. He was also seen in the film named “Elmo Saves Christmas”. Kevin has played a vital role behind Elmo’s enduring popularity.
