Oregon, June 18 (THAINDIAN NEWS) An elderly resident of Oregon has been found alive after spending four days trapped under her dresser. Local law enforcement authorities claim that 67-year-old Virginia Cartier was moving furniture in her apartment, part of a complex at 12620 N.W. Barnes Road (Cedar Mills, Oregon), at the time when her heavy dresser fell on top of her.

Apparently, after seeing newspapers piling up and receiving no answer after knocking at her door, Rich Roisland, Cartier’s next-door neighbor, became worried over his neighbor’s safety.

In addition, he had not seen Cartier in a few days, and he had not heard much noise coming from her flat, although she is pretty quiet anyway according to Roisland.

After her next-door neighbor contacted the local police, officers arrived at her apartment and inspected the area. They later broke down Cartier’s door after she did not answer the door. The officers found her trapped under the dresser, and believed that she was dead.

Paramedics last announced that Cartier was in fact alive. She has received hospital treatment at the Providence St Vincent Medical Center for injuries to her legs. She was released last Saturday.
