Pennsylvania, Jan 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) On Sunday, Pennsylvania governor, Ed Rendell called the hosts of CBS’s “60 Minutes” as idiots for not getting the fact that gambling machines in the state were keeping the jobs in the state.

Rendell was on the show and the issue of why there are too many slot machines in the state than ATMs came up. Rendell told the correspondent, Lesley Stahl that it was necessary for the state to keep all the slot machines so that the jobs and taxes are kept in the state. When Stahl further told the governor that he did not get it, Rendell called him and his other colleagues and any other person who did not get it “idiots” and further described them as “simpletons”.

The surge in the number of slot machines in the state has been a course of worry for many people. They argue that the many machines will cause people to turn into gamblers mainly due to the fact that times are hard.

Rendell said he was not convinced by that argument. He said that people always gambled and it’s not because there are more slot machines. He argued that without the slot machines, people still bet on games and on the lottery.
