The quake occurred on Friday, October 24, 2008 at 00:26:09 UTC ( Coordinated Universal Time ) and Friday, October 24, 2008 at 07:26:09 AM at epicenter local time as reported by the U.S. Geological Survey.
The epicenter is 300 km (185 miles) N of Raoul Island, Kermadec Islands, 555 km (345 miles) NNE of L’Esperance Rock, Kermadec Islands, 1365 km (840 miles) NE of Auckland, New Zealand, 1785 km (1110 miles) NNE of WELLINGTON, New Zealand with the depth of 126.2 km (78.4 miles).
