Dutch patients demand sexual services from nurses

Amsterdam, Mar 15 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Dutch patients are demanding sexual services from the nurses, as they are of the opinion that it ought to be a part of their standard care. However the nurses are not amused and they have instead launched a nation wide campaign on Friday, against the demands. The nurses union are totally against the move by the patients, who say that taking care of their sex-life also ought to be a part of the nurse’s care regime.
The nurses union is titled NU’91 and they are calling this nation-wide campaign as ‘I Draw The Line Here’. They also have an advertisement in which a young woman is present, who has covered her face with her crossed hands. Apparently this nation wide campaign came into being, after the nurses union received a complaint from a 24-year-old caregiver, who was being harassed by a 42-year-old disabled man. The patient was of the opinion that the nurse also ought to provide him sexual services as part of her care regime at his home. This caregiver also saw that the other nurses of this particular 42-year-old man, used to provide him with sexual favors. However she stood her ground and protested, and was subsequently fired from her job. Then she lodged a complaint with the union. “This type of action is not part of the job responsibilities of carers and nurses,” NU’91 said.

My child works in health care and she was told it was her place to teach someone masturbation and how to do it properly to take care of his needs so he wouldn’t get sore or hurt himself. I think the male owner of the company should have had that responsibility, not give it to my child. She found a way out without using “hands on therapy” and took him to see educational filmsto help teach the technique. I hear he was in love with the vacuum cleaner at the time. Now she has to buy condoms for him. That, too is above the call of duty in my humble opinion. Telling someone to do that is the same as staff abuse.

I was wondering why Cathy has seemed so distant lately, why she doesnt look at me in that special way when she is inserting my catheter. I did not attend nursing school I attended a University and received a Bachelors Degree in Nursing. This article is merely and example of nurses not having proper representation. To be a BSN, you must be smart. Not knocking Associates or LVN..both are hard working great groups. If nurses were recognized for all the science, drug preparation, care planning and managing we must do to provide excellent care–in many cases Critical Care, people would have a different opinion. You cannot have a healthcare system without nurses–especially good ones. Besides, we usually are saving our hot sex knowledge to share with our hotties on our off days!

You know many many years ago, nurses were little more than this,we weren’t allowed to do anything. Those times have changed and RN’s are smart, educated people capable of saving lives and improving health. I don’t care who is in the white house, this is more for the guy in the cat house. These patients are out of control.
Yes, we are there to care for all aspects of a patient’s health, that doesn’t mean providing a sexual partner. Sexual acts are not a requirement for health. As an college educated professional respected by my peers, my patients, and the Dr’s I work with this whole situation makes me ill. The nurse who stood her ground and refused deserves to be praised and held up as an example for doing the right thing. Nurses across the planet ought to stand up together and shout loudly in protest!

How on earth can harassing a nurse for sexual favors be considered a sane valid point that would deserve any kind of debate at all except trying to figure out to what degree that these patients are actually abusing their hired nurse. Should she also have to stick a gloved tongue down a patients throat and french kiss him so that his need for feeling sexually wanted are met? And what if all the hired nurses that week are male and the patient is not gay or bisexual? Then how badly is the patient going to insist that it is a necessity.

MORE ARGUEMENTS: A nun can be a nurse. A nun cannot be a prostitute. That says a lot right there. Some people have been watching one too many porno flicks. Also, sex is not one of Maslow’s Hierachy of Needs- which Nursing is based on. Also, when most people get married they commit to touching or performing a sexual act with no one else but their spouse.(or even if they aren’t married but engaged or in a serious relationship). Why not argue flight attendents are there to make you as comfortable as they can, or psychologist are supposed to do everything they can do to relieve your mood. The issue is pretty clear to me, people are comparing this to the sense of entitlement in the Nederlands and many other Europens countries have socialized medical care. it appears Obama, Pelosi and Reid would like a similar program in the USA, according to what is being said in all media stations, including Fox. Most of the American people do not want it. It is too expensive and it will make us more vulnerable to others due to the debt we will have. The poor in the USA already have Med cuopons and the working poor go to Community Clinics where they have a sliding fee scale health cost. It would be better to address the current health coverage problems one at the time! It will cost the Dems for trying to make us like the Europeans. We don’t want it!!!!

GetInformed needs to read the bill himself. Obamacare is nothing more than a gift to the Insurance Industry. Obamacare removes restrictions on preexisting illnesses, it is true, but it sets no limit on what they can charge you for this ‘guaranteed availability’, there are no price controls, so they may charge 2 or 3 times normal prices and you have no option, you will pay because Obama makes failure to pay a CRIMINAL OFFENSE! Don’t look for competition to drive down prices, either, because the Insurance Industry ANTITRUST EXEMPTION stays just as it is. There is NO REFORM, no provision for competition in this Insurance ‘Reform’ Bill, because Democratic Sen. Ben Nelson of Nebraska demanded the Antitrust Exemption be left just as it is as part of the ‘Cornhusker Kickback.’ I laugh when I see Obama’s captive audiences cheering as he talks about his plan, they actually think they’re getting something. All they’re going to get is an increase in their costs NOW, and then the requirement to PURCHASE insurance in about 6 years. It is the insurance companies that are going to be the big winners here. with 50 million new customers enslaved under Federal force. One of my patient’s mothers was wearing an Obama t-shirt and told me that even though she works full-time for the IRS she can’t afford insurance for her kid, so she’s applying for CHIP coverage. I told her ‘fine’, but then I pointed to her t-shirt and pointed out that under her pal’s plan she’ll have to find the money SOMEWHERE to PURCHASE her required insurance. She just looked at me - these folks all think it’s going to be FREE, at least for them. Well,all you marginally employed Obama boosters best start looking for a second or third job, because Obama, Pelosi, Reid, and the rest of these crooks owe paybacks to the Insurance Industry, and YOU’RE the ones who’ll have to pay. There is a chance that a MALE DUTCH NURSE may have the Floor Duty and it may not be a THERMOMETER that they stick into the Male Dutch Patient’s MOUTH or wherever. Are you serious. “Prissy girl can’t handle life.” How do you know the patient wasn’t just saying the other nurses masturbated him hoping the “young prissy nurse” would believe him. If YOU do believe him, well then how about this. If the other nurses enjoyed it so much why are they not still there taking care of him? You yourself probably can’t find anyone to have sex with you without paying them unless you find a job where you can harass them into doing it because you are their boss. Sexual harassers are criminals. Women who give into them are taking the lesser of the two evils (Lose job or have some form of sex with repulsive jackass.) Just because you have no morals doesn’t mean no one else does. If that is what the patient would seriously expect then it should be explicitely stated before the nurse is hired. I bet no nurse will take the job except one who will screw up the doses of his medication or do something else that ends up harming him because she will not be trying hard to be an actually nurse.
