Dutch national arrested aboard Aruba-bound plane in Ireland
January 13th, 2010 - 7:33 pm ICT by BNO NewsAMSTERDAM (BNO NEWS) — An ArkeFly passenger plane carrying 224 passengers made an emergency landing at Shannon Airport in Ireland on Wednesday morning, authorities said.
It was not immediately clear what caused the emergency landing, which officials described as an “incident.” A 44-year-old Dutch national was arrested under the Air Navigation and Transport Act and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
The flight departed Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport early this morning and was en-route to Aruba when it was diverted to Shannon Airport.
