Dutch emergency number down nationwide for cell phones
January 27th, 2010 - 2:10 am ICT by BNO NewsTILBURG (BNO NEWS) — The Dutch emergency telephone number 1-1-2 went down nationwide for cell phone users on Tuesday evening, officials said.
The Dutch Ministry of the Interior said the outage began around 6.30 p.m. local time. “People who urgently need police, fire, or ambulance must call 1-1-2 with a landline; this does work,” the ministry said in a statement.
Also a national non-emergency police line, 0900-8844, went down for cell phones.
It’s not yet known when the problems may be resolved.
