Dec.15, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A few days back the newest member in the famous Duggar household made headlines when she became a one day old aunt after her birth. She is the 19th member in the ever expanding family. The infant named Josie Brooklyn had a premature birth. It was because of a medical condition known as pre-eclampsia. It is quite amazing that the infant was only 25 months old when she was born and now she weighs just 1 pound and 6 ounces. Michelle, the mother of the baby and Bob, her father did not expect her arrival before March 2010. However, things took a different turn when Michelle Duggar had to be hospitalized following pains related to a gallstone.
It was at that time that the doctors detected the presence of pre-eclampsia. They decided to perform a C-section and that brought the child to the world untimely. As a matter of fact, hardly 5 to 8 percent women are affected by this condition during pregnancy. It has symptoms like excessive amount of protein in urine and increased blood pressure. However, not all victims suffer from high blood pressure. The condition should not be neglected by a victim or her kins. If it is left untreated, the life of the baby and mother can be threatened.
It can develop in a pregnant woman after the 20th week of her pregnancy. There is no known medical treatment apart from performing a C-section. Women are more likely to develop this condition in the first pregnancy. However, exceptions occur and in Michelle’s case it was her 19th baby. The medical science has no preventive medicine for pre-eclampsia.

The baby was 25 months old when she was born? She came into the world as a two-year-old toddler?
Don’t you have someone to edit copy for you?

I guess this show’s the difference in opinion when it comes to those who believe a baby is “fetus” and those of us who believe a baby is exactly that, a baby from the moment of conception.

Why is it that a husband and wife, who have the means to take care of their children cannot have as many children as they want? When there are single girls/women having three and four babies, who cannot take care of them. But are leaving off of the taxpayers. And they are hailed as great mothers?
Wrong! The Duggars should be held as role models for every young girl/woman, boy/man in this country. They are a loving couple, who take care of their own and are not supported by the government.
Kudos to the Duggars. Hope that little Josie comes home soon.
May God Bless Your Family!

I have to agree with conservative’s comment. The Duggar’s are good people, and they do love and take care of all of their children. From a medical standpoint though, I would like to see Jim Bob and Michelle really consider not having any more children, as I fear that it might really be tempting fate to do it again. I fear for Michelle’s health and for additional babies that might be born premature. They are bery lucky this time that their little one is doing well, but many do not and come into this world with life long handicaps. You guys have accomplished so much already, look at all those special young men and women you have created for the world to enjoy. I just don’t want Michelle to ruin her health before she can raise them all. I wonder if this isn’t a sign guys, maybe you should head the warning. Godspeed to you all in your recovery.

The Mayo Clinic states that one of the causes of Pre-Eclampsia is poor diet. The Duggar Family posted their recipes on their family website and I must say that their diet is one of the worst diets I’ve ever seen.
They rarely eat fresh fruits or vegetables. Instead, they buy hot dogs, hot dog buns, white bread, Kraft Singles cheese, BBQ sauce, ketchup, ground beef, noodles, cake mix, pickles. Okay, so they bought a bag of lettuce. And a tomato.
Where is the KALE, BOK CHOY, SPINACH, CARROTS, PURPLE ONIONS, CELERY, EGGPLANT, CAULIFLOUR, BROCCOLI, GARLIC, SWEET POTATOES, PARSLEY, RED BELL PEPPERS?
They will all be pre-diabetic or diabetic by the age of 30-40 with their present diet.
All of them should see a dietitian.
