DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES (THAINDIAN NEWS)- Dubai is gearing up for celebrating the much awaited Dubai Shopping Festival which will last for 32 days. The grand opening ceremony of the festival will take place on January 20th 2011 which is the opening day of the festival. The Burj Khalifa region will be kept ready for the occasion while another round of celebration will take place at Dubai Creek Park, as it has been reported. The festival is synonymous with endless shopping, entertainment as well as prizes. During the inauguration ceremony the entry to the Dubai Creek Park will be free. There will be shows by a number of dance troupes and bands. The visitors can also take part in a number of sports and water activities during the festival. To present the regional dance styles and heritage of UAE some cultural groups will perform at night. Selected Emirate dishes will also be served to the visitors.

The skyline of Dubai will be replete with bright hues as the fireworks will start at night. The fireworks will be arranged at a number of places during the opening night. The noted retail resort of the Dubai Festival City, namely Festival center will offer a number of opportunities to win prizes. Every 10 days the participants will get the chance to win cars like Dodge, Volvo cx60 and Toyota Avalon. Exotic travel deals can also be won by the visitors at the Dubai shopping festival.
