Dozens injured after trains crash near Johannesburg - official
September 10th, 2010 - 7:08 pm ICT by BNO NewsALRODE ALBERTON, SOUTH AFRICA (BNO NEWS) — Dozens of passengers were injured when two trains, one of them a passenger train, collided in a town near Johannesburg on Friday, emergency officials said.
Chris Botha, a spokesman for Netcare 911, said the accident happened near a station in the town of Alrode Alberton and involved a passenger train and a freight train. He said a total of 56 passengers were on the passenger train at the time of the collision.
Botha said a total of 31 people were injured in the accident, including 14 people who were seriously injured.
