Dozens injured after serious bus crash in California
May 3rd, 2009 - 1:24 pm ICT by admin ( Leave a comment )Perris, CALIFORNIA (BNO NEWS) – Dozens of passengers were injured after a bus crash in Riverside County, California on Saturday afternoon, officials told BNO News.
The crash happened northbound Interstate 215, in the city of Perris when the bus crashed into the center median, which is made of cement. No other vehicles were reported to be involved in the accident and there was no immediate word on the cause of the crash. “We have eight patients that are in critical condition [and] we have twenty with moderate to minor injuries,” a spokeswoman for the Riverside County Fire Department said. The bus was carrying a total of 28 people.
Six people were trapped inside the back of the bus and firefighters completed the extradition of the victims just after 6 p.m. local time. Three air ambulances were on the scene, along with 10 normal ambulances and 10 fire engines.
