Dougherty siblings caught in Colorado
August 11th, 2011 - 12:09 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattColorado, Aug 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Police in Colorado have successfully arrested the Dougherty siblings who have been fugitives since the beginning of the month. The three siblings – 29-year-old Lee Grace Dougherty, 21-year-old Ryan Edward Dougherty 21-year-old and their half brother Dylan Dougherty Stanley were arrested when their vehicle crashed on an intestate.
The police have confirmed that Lee was shot in the leg by the time that the whole episode ended. The Dougherty siblings – famously called the “Dougherty Gang” - have been on the run since the 2nd of August when they shot at an officer who tried to stop their vehicle. The incident happened in Florida and the siblings have been fugitives ever since.
After five hours on the run, the siblings allegedly robbed a bank in Valdosta, Ga. Witnesses say one of the siblings had an AK 47 rifle with another one having a machine gun as the last person collected the cash from the victims. The police received several reports of people sighting the Dougherty Gang ever since.
The siblings have been in and out of prison on several occasions. Lee who worked as a stripper in a club has been to jail on five occasions while his brother Ryan has 14 felony charges on his criminal record.
