London, Dec 7 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Doncaster Council has seized a “supercharged” mobility scooter because it cause nuisance in the area. The seized mobility scooter has been modified to have a supercharged petrol engine attached to it which officials say break the rules because of the way it is used.

Council officials say the scooter has been driven at speed of 60mph in the past and that has upset residents and scared wild deer. Officials say they stopped the 24-year-old rider and took the machine from him. There was no report of confrontation when the scooter was taken away. Officials do not intend to return the scooter because of how it was used in the past.

Councillor Cynthia Ransome admitted that the supercharged scooter is “feat of engineering” but she contends with the way that it was used by its owner. She told BBC that, “Whilst it may look like a lot of fun to ride, this type of noisy vehicle annoys residents immensely and terrifies local wildlife and walkers. We don’t want to stop people having fun and this is obviously quite a feat of engineering, but when they build machines like this they should be used at licensed tracks and not in areas where they annoy others.”

Mobility scooters are used by disabled people to move around in town. It mostly contain electric motors and their speed is highly restricted.
