Los Angeles, May 3 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Donald Trump will not be appearing on the Tonight Show with David Letterman. Racking up enemies in Hollywood, including Jerry Seinfeld, Robert De Niro, Cher and Bob Schieffer, the out spoken magnate now took on the popular late night talk show host. He was outraged at remarks Letterman made to a good friend of his, Dr. Phil.

Last week, while interviewing Dr. Phil on the Tonight Show, Letterman began to discuss Trump’s recent attacks on president Obama. The tycoon had cast doubt on the legitimacy of the president’s citizenship. He also suggested that Obama may not have entered Harvard Law School through open and fair means.

Discussing these statements, Letterman questioned his producer on booking Trump on his show for May 18th. “Is this a booking you’re happy with? Are we eager to book somebody who has the appearances and appendages of a racist?” Letterman asked his producer. He said to Dr. Phil: “It’s all fun, it’s all a circus, it’s all a rodeo, until it starts to smack of racism. And then it’s no longer fun.”

Trump responded with an outraged letter cancelling his proposed appearance on the Tonight Show, saying he was “disappointed to hear the statements you made about me last night on your show that I was a ‘racist,’”. “Based upon your statements, and despite the fact that we have always done so well together, especially in your ratings, I am canceling my May 18th appearance on your show,” he added.

It is widely believed that Trump’s attacks on Obama stem from his desire to run for President during the next election.
