May 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) At an annual gathering of first responders for disaster and anti-terrorism exercises, the crowds were amazed not just by the men and women who fight so hard to combat terrorism, but by sea lions and dolphins who share the same job. A dolphin which was working for the Navy quickly located a ‘”terrorist” in the San Francisco Bay, and then the sea lion used it’s mouth to capture the fake terrorist by cuffing his leg. The team of aquatic animal anti-terrorists also found a mock mine located under the water.

According to officials, the animals, who are from the US Navy Marine Mammal Program located the dummy mine where they had hidden it on a pier piling near the AT&T Park during the statewide exercise, which lasted three days. The event focused on port terrorism. During the mock exercises, the animals also located two suspicious divers and managed to apprehend the one.

The San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsome shared with the San Francisco Chronicle, “They inspired me, it is a reminder that we’re not the United States of San Francisco. We are part of this country and there are those that wish to harm this country. San Francisco is on that list. We can deny it all we want, but we will deny it at our peril. We need to be vigilant.”
