New York, June 8 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Firefighters at Bay Shore, NY had a hectic time bringing down a puppy which was trapped on a roof. The animal which is named Rosie stayed on top of the roof for hours before it was brought down by rescuers.

Some witnesses were shocked to find the dog at such a height with some admitting that it was the first time that they have witnessed such a thing. The neighbors who saw the animal at the top of the roof said they couldn’t make out what the creature was when they first saw it.

Pat Baker who is one of the first residents to have spotted the animal said she initially believed that it was an owl.

She said that, “Never in my life, ever, did we see anything like this. Who would expect that you would see a dog on a roof? At first, like I said, I thought it was an owl or something.”

When the emergency workers were called, Bay Shore firefighters Michael Ippolito and Tom Komoroski were dispatched to the scene to rescue the animal. They were able to rescue the animal from the roof all along being careful not to scare the animal to go down on the other side.

Rosie was trapped on top of the roof for at least 2 hours.
