Bartow, Dec 18 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Technology sure came to the aid of this hapless man, James Bain who was cleared of a crime that he did not do. Even though he spent 35 years in prison, he is not bitter about it. Rather he is happy at the freedom that he has achieved. Sophisticated DNA testing helped to determine that James Bain was wrongly convicted of kidnapping and raping a 9-year-old boy.

“Nothing can replace the years Jamie has lost,” said Seth Miller, a lawyer for the Florida Innocence Project, which helped Bain win freedom. “Today is a day of renewal.”

James Bain walked out of the Polk County courthouse on Thursday as a free man. And he was wearing a black T-shirt that said “not guilty,” he spoke of his deep faith in God and said that he does not have any anger in his heart.’I'm not angry. No, I’m not angry,” he said. “Because I’ve got God.”

The 54-year-old James says that he is looking forward to eating fried turkey and drinking Dr Pepper and he also wants to go back to school, to continue his education that was left midway when he was arrested. When Judge James Yancey freed him, then there was uproar all over the courthouse as his friends and family surrounded him. James Bain was obviously happy at the turn of events and says that he is looking forward to spending time with his 77-year-old ailing mother and his family. “That’s the most important thing in my life right now, besides God,” he said.
