Disruptive passenger tries to gain cockpit access aboard Gran Canaria-bound plane
January 26th, 2010 - 1:42 am ICT by BNO News ( Leave a comment )LUTON, ENGLAND (BNO NEWS) — A disruptive passenger unsuccessfully tried to gain access to the cockpit of a Thomson Airways passenger plane on Monday, the airliner said.
The incident happened aboard Thomson Airways flight 6102, flying from Cardiff to Las Palmas airport in Gran Canaria. A spokeswoman said the passenger demonstrated aggressive behavior towards customers and crew, and tried to gain access to the cockpit.
“The passenger was restrained during the flight and in accordance with our procedures the aircraft was met by the local police upon arrival into Gran Canaria,” a spokesperson said. “Thomson Airways would like to reassure customers that incidents of this type are extremely rare and that their safety is our first priority at all times.”
A spokeswoman said the incident is being treated as a “disruptive passenger” and said no terrorism is suspected.
