Discontent Employee Omar Thornton Kills 8 People Before Killing Himself

Aug 4, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Omar Thornton, the Connecticut Truck driver who had worked at Hartford Distributors for a couple of years was called in for a disciplinary hearing yesterday morning. He was caught on security camera many times stealing beer from the shop, hence the company officials asked him to resign. Omar Thornton resigned from his job calmly but after that he he went on a shooting spree by killing 8 people and later killing himself.
This shocking incident took place around 7:30 a.m. in the morning and the gruesome shooting continued till 9 a.m. It was the time when the workers in the distribution firm change their shifts. The alleged killer before shooting himself called his mother to tell her that he loved her, but the company has pushed him to the edge so he had to fight back. Omar Thornton’s family said that he had always complained about racial discrimination at his workplace. Christopher Roos, the Connecticut Teamsters official however, said that it had nothing to do with “race” and described it as a “disgruntled” employee who shot bunch of people. The vice-president of Hartford Distributors, Steven Hollander, who was also injured during the rampage said that Omar Thornton was “cold as ice” when he was asked to resign.
Jodi Bell, the Governor of Connecticut released a statement of condolence to the family of the victims which said that it was a senseless act of violence that has left the city all shaken and reminds how precious and fragile life is. Manchester police Chief Marc Montminy said that Omar Thornton shot himself before the police could catch him. The alleged killer in his 10 minutes phone call to his mother also said that he had shot five racists and as the “cops” were going to get him, he would have to take care of himself.
