van The Federal Bureau of Investigation in the United States have admitted paying Joran van der Sloot, the suspected killer of Natalee Holloway $25,000.

But the agency maintains that Joran van der Sloot was under investigation and they were building a criminal case against him, when he disappeared to Peru. Van der Sloot has reportedly admitted killing another young woman in Peru.

The FBI delayed the arrest of Van der Sloot, so that they would have ample time to build a criminal case against the Dutchman. The FBI maintains that there was not enough proof to have Van der Sloot arrested. However Van der Sloot disappeared to Peru, before the FBI could arrest him.

Van der Sloot is currently being held in Peru, for the killing of a 21-year-old business student. The woman - Stephany Flores was the daughter of a Peruvian circus promoter. Her body was found in the hotel room of Van der Sloot. Her neck was broken and she was badly beaten to death.

In the case of the Holloway disappearance, Van der Sloot allegedly contacted the lawyers of Holloway’s mother and offered to show the body of Holloway in exchange for $250,000. The woman contacted the FBI and the FBI staged the payment and videotaped the proceedings. In the video, the suspect admitted that he had indeed killed Holloway. But the FBI was never able to arrest him then because the body was not found.
