Diane Downs’ Fourth Child’s Story In “20/20″

May 15, (THAINDIAN NEWS) On Friday night the ABC’s “20/20″ television series went on to show the interview and the life of the daughter of Diane Downs- the mother of three who was convicted of shooting her three children and the killing of one. The show featured the story of Rebecca Babcock the fourth child of Diane Downs who was born just few days after her mother’s conviction. The story shows how her life has altered due to the revelation of her biological mother’s identity and how she still tires to cope with the fact that her biological mother was none other than the notorious 1983 killer.
Rebecca Babcock was whisked from her biological mother’s lap just hours after she breathed on this earth. She was handed over to her adoptive parents Jackie Babcock and Chris Babcock. The “20/20″ went on to interview her adoptive parents. Jackie Babcock went on to say that the new born baby that was handed over to them was a “typical little perfect baby”. The adoptive mother added that Rebecca Babcock was “adorable”. However the adoptive parent who did not let their daughter of her biological mother had to do it at the end when Rebecca Babcock was 16.
Rebecca Babcock on her part said in “20/20″ that as she came to know about her mother she was shattered. She found it hard to cope with the reality that she was actually the seed of a person who was convicted of the murder and shooting of her own children. The show captured and brought in front of the viewers for the first time an untold story of the fourth child of Diane Downs.
