Deputy Kent Mundell Dies After Suffering Shot-Wounds

PoliceDec 29, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Last week, two Washington officers were shot at by a drunkard. One of them, Kent Mundell, died yesterday after he was removed from the life support system. 44-year-old Kent Mundell, who served as the Pierce County Sheriff’s Deputy, has now become one of the six police officers to die in Washington, within the last two months. All these officers suffered gunfire wounds.

The police spokesperson, Ed Troyer- between tears- reported that the former officer “went very quickly after the life support was pulled”. His death has been credited to David E. Crable, who shot him and his partner Nick Hausner, after the officers went to check out domestic violence at the residence of the brother of David Crable. The call had been placed by the family members who wanted a very drunk David E. Crable to be removed from their house. 35 year old David Crable, is said to have previous police records pertaining to domestic violence. The shootout at the Crable residence saw the end of him too.

The other officer who was shot at- Sgt Nick Hausner- has reportedly recovered from his shot wounds and was also seen visiting the now-deceased Kent Mundell during the holidays. Nick Hausner has been discharged from the hospital following good recovery and is now at home. The funeral services for Kent Mundell will be held on the 5th of January. Before this incident, police officers from Lakewood succumbed to shot wounds which they had suffered during a shootout. In another happening, one of the Seattle police officers was killed in his patrol car itself.
