Perugia, Sept 27 (THAINDIAN NEWS) One of the defense team lawyers trying to overturn the conviction of American student Amanda Knox has told the Italian court that his client is like Jessica Rabbit. In his closing remarks, lawyer Giulia Bongiorno told the judge that Knox has been cast in the wrong shadow since the trial began about four years ago because of the image that she has been given.

Bongiorno told the court that, “Jessica Rabbit looks like a man-eater, but she is a faithful and loving woman.” He continued that the 24-year-old is not the sex-obsessed character that the world media has made her to look.

Knox is fighting to have the 26-year-old jail sentence overturned by the court. She is accused of killing English student Meredith Kercher. Her other two accomplices who were also charged in the case were each given 25 years for the various roles that they played in the death of the 21-year-old.

Some legal analysts expect Knox to be freed after the main evidence used by the prosecution team during the first trial was discredited by independent forensic investigators.

With the closing arguments made, the judge is expected to come out with his verdict on the case that has received international media hype over the years.
