Defected Russian Spy Dies From Choking On Meat

russian-spySep21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A 53 year old top Russian Spy who had defected to US in 2000 died by choking on a piece of meat. The defected spy by the name of Sergei Tretyakov died suddenly on June 13 by choking on a piece of meat. There were speculations that he has been killed but a medical report by a Florida medical examiner confirmed that he had died by choking on a piece of meat. The report also said that he had a cancerous tumor in his colon. The spy who had defected to USA in 2000 said revealed in an interview in 2008 that his agents had helped Russia in making millions of dollars from the oil for food program in Iraq before the fall of Saddam Hussein.

His death was announced by his widow Helen Tretyakov on July 9 on the ground that she did not want the Russia to claim credit for his death. Sergei Tretyakov had called his defection the biggest failure of Russian Intelligence in United States. He had further disclosed in his 2008 interview that despite the end of cold war Russia harbored bad feelings for USA. Sergei Tretyakov had become disillusioned with his role as a Russian spy. He said that he found it immoral to continue his help to the Russian government. He described his life of a spy as a dark tunnel. He had announced his intention of helping USA as one of the reasons for defection.

When working as a spy Sergei Tretyakov used to run his espionage operations from the United Nations. He lived with his wife in the Sarasota County town of Osprey and had a peach colored home. His neighbors said that they knew him as a Russian spy.
