Washington DC, Nov 14 (THAINDIAN NEWS) It was quiet a heroic chase in the National Zoo at Rock Creek Park. A small deer probably a baby deer jumped into the lion’s enclosure and was gently even stroked by the lion. Then the animal instinct woke up in the lion and the deer also felt that it was in alien territory and not safe, so both of them reacted at the same time.

The lion started to chase the deer, who wanted to run away to safety. The deer was quiet quick and agile on its feet and managed to stay in front of the lion in the chase. As soon as the deer neared the water-body then it realized that it had no place to go as the lion was right behind him. So fearlessly he jumped in the water body and the sad lion didn’t follow suit but rather preferred to stay on the boundary and watch the little deer struggle in the water.

The whole episode was watched by hordes of anxious onlookers who had come visiting the National Zoo at Rock Creek Park.

Onlookers began rooting the deer on as it fought to get free. “Everyone was cheering, ‘Go, go, go’ ” to encourage the deer, witness Josh Shpayher said. “Everyone was rooting for the deer.”

The deer eventually escaped back into the water, where it waited while zookeepers took the lions out. After the lions were taken out of the enclosure, the little but a very brave deer was escorted to safety.

The whole event was widely videotaped and has become quiet a sensation on the Internet as it is being viewed by numerous people.
