Manila, Jan 5 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A dead fetus was found in an Etihad flight, which was flying from Abu Dhabi to the Philippines’s capital of Manila.

Abortion in Philippines is illegal and prosecutors say if the woman who left the fetus in the plane is identified, she could be prosecuted, if it is determined that she terminated the pregnancy.

The fetus was only found after a cleaner of the plane tried to clean the bathroom of the plane. The shell shocked cleaner informed the superiors and the fetus was fetched. The fetus is believed to be either 5 or 6 months old.

This is not the first time that such an incident has happened in the country. A Filipino woman captured the headlines when she left her baby in a trash bag on the plane. She gave birth in the plane and tried to leave the baby. The baby was eventually found and when the woman was confronted, she pleaded that she committed the crime because the baby was as a result of rape. She reported that she was raped by her boss.

Most Filipino women work as domestic workers outside the country and they are often the target of abuse and humiliation.
