New Orleans, Mar 5 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A shooting spree by Sniper Lee Boyd Malvo and John Allen Muhammad in the Washington DC area in 2002, had left 10 people dead. In this shooting spree John C. Gaeta was also shot at, however he was fortunate enough to survive. John got a bullet in his neck, on the 1st of August 2002 near Baton Rouge, while he was trying to change a tire on his vehicle. And now the 58-year-old John Gaeta has got a letter of apology from the sniper Lee Boyd Malvo.
Lee Malvo wrote in the apology letter that, “I am truly sorry for the pain I caused you and your loved ones. I was relieved to hear that you suffered no paralyzing injuries and that you are alive.” Malvo also signed his name in the letter. The letter was dated the 21st of February 2010.
After getting the letter, John Gaeta seems glad that the sniper actually thought about him, and wanted to apologize to him. However he seems skeptical about the sniper’s intentions, that whether he is truly sorry, or whether this is just a trick to get his sentence reduced. Malvo has been sentenced to life in prison. Sniper Malvo had said that he shot John because he thought that John was already dead.
