Dangerous animals escape from Ohio preserve

Zanesville, Ohio, Oct 19 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Schools are closed and officials are on the alert after several exotic dangerous animals escaped from their enclosures in Ohio. Residents are urged to stay indoors as the animals are hunted down. So far, officials say more than a dozen of the animals have been killed at various places in the state.

Some of the escaped animals are bears and big cats which are considered immediate danger to the population. The animals escaped from a wild-reserve in the eastern part of the state. Officials say when they got to the reserve, they found the owner dead and the enclosure opened. It is suspected that the owner committed suicide after freeing the animals from their enclosure.

It is estimated that 48 dangerous animals escaped from the reserve. The police have announced that they have hunted and killed 30 of the animals and they are still searching for the remaining ones.

Terry Thompson was the owner of the Muskingum County Animal Farm. NBC asked county Sheriff Matt Lutz about the possibility that he killed himself. Lutz replied that, “Anything’s a possibility at this point.”

Residents are warned that the animals are strong and look mature so they should be careful when they have encounter with any of them. Motorists have also been warned to stay inside their car should they ever encounter any of the creatures. It is believed that the animals were fed on Monday.
