Arkansas, Nov date (THAINDIAN NEWS) Arkansas inhabitant Curtis Lavelle Vance was convicted of capital murder on Wednesday for beating an Arkansas TV anchorwoman Anne Pressly so badly that her pretty face was completely shattered and she never regained consciousness and died five days later, after his brutal assault on her.

After the verdict, Pressly’s mother, Patti Cannady, raised a hand and said, “Praise God. Praise God.” She burst into sobs.

The jury is still deliberating about whether he should be put to death or imprisoned without the possibility of parole. Vance was also convicted of burglary along with rape and theft of property in the brutal Oct. 20, 2008, attack on Anne Pressly. Vance confessed his crimes to the police and said that he went to Pressly’s neighborhood to steal laptop. He entered her home through a Dutch door she left open for her dogs, authorities said, Vance looked around for computers and then found Anne.

After the attack, Pressly slipped into a coma and died five days later without regaining consciousness.

As Vance left the courthouse, after the verdict, his family members shouted, “Love ya, Lavelle!” and he said, “Love you!” Then he shouted, “It’s a corrupted system!”
