Crystal Lewis’ Six-Year-Old Son Dies During Dental Treatment

jacobiRichmond, May 15, (THAINDIAN NEWS) According to reports a 6 year old boy died at Virginia Commonwealth University’s health clinic where he had gone for a dental treatment at the VCU’s dental clinic. Crystal Lewis the mother of the six year old Jacobi Hill said that her son suffered cardiac arrest after he was administered an anesthetic drug as the doctors were to put caps on several of his teeth. Jacobi Hill was pronounced dead shortly after at the Virginia Commonwealth University’s Medical clinic. The Authorities are reportedly investigating the case and trying to find out the exact reason of such a mishap. An Autopsy is being carried out by the state medical examiner’s office.

According to Crystal Lewis her son had the problem of asthma, but she mentioned that he had no other health related problem. She had also disclosed to media sources that on Monday, Jacobi Hills was taken to a heath physician for a checkup and that the physician has mentioned that Jacobi Hills was fit enough to undergo the dental treatment. Crystal Lewis says that an administrator of the VCU School of Dentistry had informed Crystal Lewis that the exact cause of the death of Jacobi Hills is unknown to the officials. According to some media sources the spokeswoman of VCU has refused to confirm and talk about the death of Jacobi Hills and has only mentioned that an internal investigation is being carried out.

Some Medical practitioners have mentioned to the media sources that using of anesthesia at the time of dental procedure is quite common. The physicians maintain that it is done to lessen the suffering of the patient during the procedure. However that the anesthesia can lead to some complications and risk has not been denied either.
