Cruise Ship ‘Louis Majesty’ hit by freak waves

ship1 Barcelona, Mar 6 (THAINDIAN NEWS) ‘Louis Majesty’ which is a cruise ship was hit by freak waves recently that also caused immense damage to the ship. The cruise ship had embarked on a 12 days trip from Genoa, and it also made ample stops at places like Tangiers, Casablanca, Tenerife, Lanzarote, Cadiz, Cartagena, and Barcelona. After all these stops, it was supposed to return to Genoa. The passengers on the ship said that the whole episode was a terrifying ordeal for them. In this tragic mishap two people died. 14 people have been reported to be injured, according to the latest reports. The Mediterranean cruise ship had over 1,350 passengers on board along with a crew of 580.

The operator of Louis Majesty is the Louis Cruise Lines, and they are based in the Cyprus. They confirmed the incident and also revealed that it happened when the ship was traveling from Barcelona to Genoa.

“It was spectacular. A lot of water came in. Many cabins were flooded,” said Cremex, who was traveling on the cruise ship with his wife. “Many people were very frightened.” He also revealed that after this incident the ship was docked at the Barcelona’s port. Now the itinerary of the ship is pretty vague, and the officials at Louis Cruise Lines refused to divulge their plan of action for the ship and the onboard passengers.
