Cruise ship hit by freak waves, terrifying ordeal for passengers

ship Barcelona, Mar 4 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A Mediterranean cruise ship was rocked by freak waves, which was a terrifying ordeal for the passengers on board the ship. Due to the impact of the freak waves, many cabins were flooded; windows broke in the restaurant, besides other minor damage. Two people also died in this incident. Six people have been reported to be injured. The Mediterranean cruise ship had over 1,350 passengers on board along with a crew of 580.

The company, which owns the cruise ship, is Louis Cruise Lines, and they said that the ship named Louis Majesty was struck by three huge waves, which were up to 8 meters in height. According to the company officials the waves were ‘abnormally high’. This incident happened on Wednesday.

“It was spectacular. A lot of water came in. Many cabins were flooded,” said Cremex, who was traveling on the cruise ship with his wife. “Many people were very frightened.” He also revealed that after this incident the ship was docked at the Barcelona’s port. Now the itinerary of the ship is pretty vague, and the officials at Louis Cruise Lines refused to divulge their plan of action for the ship and the onboard passengers.
