Beijing, Dec 13 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A five-year-old girl survived the weight of a 1.6 ton 4X4 vehicle in the Chinese town of Wentzhou. The crowd that gathered at the scene of the accident managed to gang up and lift the truck from the little girl.

She was rushed to the hospital where doctors surprisingly said she escaped with minor injuries. The accident was captured on a CCTV footage. In the video, the little girl could be seen sitting in the middle of the road as the vehicle reverses. The driver apparently didn’t see the child sitting on the floor and ran over her. He however stopped on the alert from the public.

That was when they rushed in to rescue the girl. It is not clear why the little girl decided to sit in the road but from the footage, it seems she was having an argument with two women prior to sitting on the road.

74-year-old Qian who joined the crowd to free the girl from under the car later told reporters that, “Save the child. That is what we should do first. Everybody should pitch in the work.”

Another resident Ms Zhou gave her approval for the way the people united to save the little girl. She said that, “People should help each other like this.”
