Coppell, July 15, (THAINDIAN NEWS) On Tuesday at around 7:35 p.m. the police found the mayor of Dallas-area city Jayne Peters and her daughter Corinne Peters dead at their suburban Coppell house. The two were found dead on arrival of the police. The death occurred from gunshot wounds that Jayne Peters and Corinne Peters suffered on their heads. The exact reason behind the killing is not yet known and the police are investigating the case.

The news of the death of the mayor was confirmed not only by the spokeswoman of the Dallas-area city but also by the Community Information Officer Sharon Logan who issued a statement on the matter. In the statement Sharon Logan said that the police arrived at the house of Jayne Peters only after they were informed of the unusual absence of the mayor from the council meeting. As per reports, Jayne Peters was scheduled to attend a council meeting but did not turn up for the same. As Jayne Peters is known for her punctuality, the council members got worried about her absence and called up the police to look into the matter. It was the Coppell City manager who called up the police.

The investigation into the death is still on and no suspect has been arrested as of yet. The Deputy Police Chief Steve Thomas said that the police will not be able to provide any further information on the matter, as “investigation is not complete” and the police does not have all the facts in front of it. However, some media sources claim that Jayne Peters shot Corinne Peters and then fatally wounded herself with gunshots.
