murderThe Honolulu police officials are reported to have arrested a 29 year old man on the suspicions of the murder of the 18 year old Iris Rodrigues-Kaikana. Corbit Ahn has been arrested late on Friday night (at around 11 p.m.) and have kept him in the police custody. He was cuffed outside his Makiki apartment. Iris’s father Steven Rodrigues is reported to have said, “I am just praying to god that they got the right person.”

The McKinley High School graduate’s naked body was found in an alleyway which is adjacent to the Kamehameha Homes housing project, the place where Iris lived, on the August 24th, at around 8:30 a.m.. According to the reports of her friends, Iris was last seen about 10 p.m., on the night of her murder.

The police have said that the teenager had been strangled to death. In the subsequent death probe, Corbit had been identified as a possible suspect, owing to various clues that linked him to the alleged crime and has been arrested on the suspicion of a second degree murder. He has not been charged yet.

Iris’s father has said, “My most biggest question is what was the motive? That’s what I want to know, what was the motive? Because I can’t bring her back alive, you know she’s in god’s hands right now. To tell you the truth.. I’m trying to figure out what is the motive. I don’t even know this guy.”

Thanking the community for the immense show of support and sympathy, Steven has said, “She’s an angel. She didn’t deserve to die.”
