Conviasa passenger plane crashes in Venezuela
September 13th, 2010 - 10:32 pm ICT by BNO NewsCIUDAD GUAYANA, VENEZUELA (BNO NEWS) — A passenger plane belonging to Venezuelan airline Conviasa crashed near an airport in Bolívar State on Monday morning, authorities said.
The aircraft, carrying between 47 and 54 people, went down near Manuel Carlos Piar Guayana Airport in Ciudad Guayana, according to the airline. It was not immediately clear what type of aircraft was involved.
Authorities believe there are survivors after the aircraft crashed near a steel and iron company.
