It is certainly celebration time in San Diego as the 2009 Comic-Con International begins today, July 23. The event, which is the biggest convention in the world for comic books, SF, films, games and other pop elements is going to remain open to the public from July 23 to July 26. As is the case every year, this time around too Comic-Con is expecting a huge turnout of crowd at the event venue.

According to reports, the preview of the Comic-Con 2009 was held last night but it was not a huge public event; only a selected few had the golden opportunity to be at the event. After the preview is done with, everyone will have the chance to see the booth stands at the San Diego Convention Center.

The first glimpse of the official trailer for Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” was given a special screening at the event last night, which was enough to create quite a hype with its big star cast including names like Johnny Depp, Rick Alanman, Anne Hathaway and others. Among the other highlights of the preview night were the screenings of some of the most talked about television series that are slated to be released in the year 2009 to 2010, like the “Human Target”, “V” and “The Vampire Diaries”. Exclusive premieres of other upcoming shows were also screened last night.

On Wednesday, July 22, actor Seth Rogen was present along with director Michael Gondry, producer Neil Moritz and co-writer Evan Goldberg, to reveal the automobile Black Beauty that is used by Rogen’s character of “The Green Hornet” in the movie, amidst cheering crowd.
